Job Summary

Facility Maintenance Tech Upholsterer will perform under general supervision, servicing, adjusting, repair and maintenance all types of upholstered pieces throughout: all venues, restaurants, event spaces, public areas, guest rooms, suites, back of house areas, , slots and table games.

All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with all laws and regulations, as well as Resorts World Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.

Primary Job Responsibilities

· The Facilities Maintenance Tech Upholsterer carries out skilled duties involving stripping and installing new layouts on all table games and repairing or re-upholstering chairs, sofas, and upholstered wall panels including other assigned duties.

· Fixing, repairing and replacing of upholstery on furniture

· Fixing, repairing or rebuilding damaged upholstered millwork, and wall panels etc.

· Knowledge of different stitching techniques: hand stitch, sewing equipment, sewing awl etc.

· The individual for this position under the direction and leadership of the Facilities Maintenance organization will work towards attaining maintenance goals and company objectives.

· The role of Facilities Maintenance Tech Upholsterer also entails estimating, scheduling, planning and carrying out preventive and corrective upholstery maintenance job duties under the recommendations of the Facilities organization.

· Troubleshooting and overseeing abnormalities to aid smooth operations in a timely manner.

· Engage in trade work in specific areas or in specialized skills involving multiple trades. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry.

· Multiple tasks in this sense may include repair, maintenance, alteration, installation, fabrication, and creation of upholstered items which require utilization of skills in problem solving, teamwork, communication, giving attention to detail and abiding by safety guidelines.

· Proven knowledge of safe operation of all tools and equipment related to upholstery.

Required Qualifications

· Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with focus on clearly communicating technical concepts.

· Exceptional service and recovery ability working with internal and external guests.

· Shall, at a minimum, possess below certifications:

o OSHA 10

· At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Hospitality Resort setting.

· Three (3) years of experience as an Upholsterer or similar trade.

· Ability to draw/prepare and interpret design templates.

· General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

· Knowledgeable of all phases of upholstery repair and renewal, knowledge of pattern making

· Experience with upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.

· Ability to handle all situations professionally and excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment; maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to operate effectively while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

· Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work both independently and within the Team.

· Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

· Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications.

· Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.

· Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day.

· Ability to work in various environments (Hot/Cold/Outdoors).

Preferred Qualifications

· Knowledge of Nevada Gaming regulations pertaining to table game maintenance.

· A degree in general education or at least a high school diploma with 3-4 years progressive experience in building maintenance.
