
Cardiology Technician- St John's
Job Description
We at Fairview Health Services are looking for a cardiology technician to join our team at our St John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN!
The Cardiology Technician is responsible for providing diagnostic testing inpatients and outpatients. This includes 12-Lead ECGs, Holter, Event and BP monitor application. The Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the supervisor including, but not limited to, retrieval of supplies for/from different units, and retrieval/restocking of linen.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.80 FTE (64 hours every two weeks) 8 hour evening and night shifts. This role will work a block schedule of Sunday from 2:30 PM–11:00 PM and Monday–Wednesday from 10:30 PM–7:00 AM.
As a Cardiology Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Performing ECG’s, and application of stress and Holter, Event, and BP monitor.
- Preparing patients for examinations and explaining procedures to patients.
- Performing all file maintenance activities related to the tests including filing, copying, faxing, and file pulling.
- Maintaining all testing equipment.
- Troubleshooting of equipment issues and conducting preventative maintenance checks.
- Initiating service calls on equipment not working.
- In the absence of stress testing and supervise application, the Cardiology Technician will perform various duties assigned by the nursing supervisor (ANS).
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
- 0-2 years EKG or patient care experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred
- Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
- Completion of accredited cardiac technician program or equivalent clinical experience
- 2-4 years of EKG or patient care experience
