
Senior Valuation Expert - VP level
Job Description
We are seeking a talented individual to join Marsh Valuation Services Team to support the ongoing growth. This role will be based in Beijing / Shanghai, China. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Marsh Valuation Services are specialists in the valuation of property, infrastructure, plant and equipment assets throughout Asia with a strong focus on insurance. We are seeking an experienced Valuer to join our team in a newly created role.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity that will see you expand Marsh’s valuation capabilities throughout Mainland China with the support of Regional Leadership whilst working on large valuation projects for some of Asia’s leading organisations.
The role will see you report into the Head of Valuations as a key member of the valuations team focused on expanding our existing offerings within China through building internal and external relationships, undertaking and overseeing the delivery of valuation projects, driving sales and business development.
This role would suit a driven, independent and client centric individual who is results and growth focused. Whilst representing our business in China, the role will also assist throughout Asia working closely with a broad team of valuers on significant valuation engagements across a range of industries.

We will count on you to:
- Drive the growth of Marsh Valuation Services across Mainland China, acting as a key representative of our business both internally and externally
- Apply your advanced knowledge to oversee and undertake significant valuation engagements, predominantly for insurance purposes
- Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally in support of key client engagements
- Build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, leveraging these connections to drive business growth
- Actively drive and support business development initiatives including developing approaches and proposals
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness
- Provide expert advice to clients in developing and adjusting project approaches, methodology, and tools to guide valuation programs and initiatives
- Provide quality assurance and technical review oversight to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across deliverables
- Develop and execute strategies to expand successful business/working relationships with clients to grow the portfolio of clients
What you need to have:
- 8+ years’ experience in performing valuations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills
- Membership or eligibility for professional bodies such as CIREA (China Institute of Real Estate Appraisers) or CAS (China Appraisal Society)
- A growth mindset with the ability to identify and convert opportunities
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement management skills
- Financial management experience along with general business acumen
- Project management capabilities
- Ability to be both self motivated and work within a team environment
- Experience with insurance valuations would be well regarded
- Availability to travel both nationally and internationally
- English and Mandarin language skills.
