Proliance Highlands Surgery Center is a high‑volume, fast‑paced ambulatory surgery center specializing in orthopedics and ENT. We consistently run a full schedule with a wide range of complex surgical procedures, from total joint replacements, spine to advanced ENT cases. Our team includes professionals who have been with us since opening 17+ years ago as well as highly skilled new team members. We maintain high expectations for performance, teamwork, and accountability, and our surgeons rely on a surgical team that is prepared, precise, and proactive.

Position Summary
The Surgical Technologist provides hands-on technical support to surgeons and the OR team before, during, and after procedures. This role requires strong anticipation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a high‑expectation, high‑accountability environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the Surgical Technologist include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and OR staff in a busy, fast-moving ASC
Maintain a friendly, professional, and positive attitude
Prepare, handle, and manage instruments, equipment, and supplies
Anticipate surgeon needs during complex orthopedic and ENT cases
Maintain the sterile field at all times
Ensure equipment is available, functional, and ready for use
Assist with supply counts, inventory, and cost-effective usage
Complete required continuing education
Participate in department committees and improvement initiatives
Identify and report safety concerns to protect patients and staff
Education/Experience
Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program
Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
Current State licensure and CPR
Minimum 2 years of prior surgical experience preferred
Orthopedic experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Problem solving skills
Skill in using a computer
Knowledge of applicable specialties
Ability to remove oneself personally from given situations, remaining objective
Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with patients, physician and staff
Ability to multi-task
Skill in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and complete
Understanding of the need for and evidence of consistent respect for confidentiality/HIPAA

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staff
Ability to communicate clearly

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
