JOB DESCRIPTION
The Barista is responsible for delivering the Starbucks Experience by providing exceptional customer service, crafting high-quality beverages, and maintaining a welcoming, clean, and efficient store environment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks.
- Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and handle transactions at the register.
- Prepare and serve handcrafted beverages and food items according to Starbucks standards.
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, seasonal promotions, and customization options.
- Follow recipes and quality standards for beverages, ensuring consistency.
- Keep the café area clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment and other store tools.
- Support a team environment by communicating effectively and assisting coworkers as needed.
- Adhere to food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines.
- Deliver outstanding guest service by anticipating needs, handling complaints professionally, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1 year + customer service experience required.
- Must be able to verbally communicate clearly with guests and fellow employees.
- Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects for stocking and storage assistance.
- Occasionally required to identify and differentiate between flavors and aromas.
HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year- any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
