Job Description
Assist in driving catering sales activities to achieve revenue goals and maximize hotel profitability. Manage catering inquiries, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with clients to ensure successful execution of events, meetings, conferences, and social functions. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate, group, and social event clients to generate repeat and new business opportunities.
Respond promptly to client requests, questions, and concerns through phone, email, and other communication channels. Utilize effective sales and upselling techniques to maximize catering revenue while maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction and brand loyalty. Coordinate with Operations, Events, Reservations, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless event planning and execution. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, contracts, event details, and sales activities in the appropriate systems.
Support the Director of Catering Sales/Catering Sales Manager in developing and implementing sales strategies, conducting site inspections, preparing sales reports, and monitoring market trends and competitor activities. Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and client functions as required to promote the property and enhance brand awareness.
Assist management in training, coaching, and motivating team members while serving as a role model for service excellence and professionalism. Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and operational procedures. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Welcome and engage clients and guests in a professional and courteous manner, anticipating their needs and delivering exceptional service. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, prepare and review business correspondence and contracts accurately, and maintain positive working relationships across departments. Monitor service quality and event execution standards to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded. Perform general administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned by management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
