Analyst, Technical Accounting (HYBRID) | DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Job Description
PURPOSE:
Assist with the preparation of accounting calculations to comply with US GAAP and local accounting regulations of multiple entities. Assist with the preparation of accounting estimates and analysis required under accounting pronouncements under US and Latin America.
FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with preparation of the straight-line calculation in relation to tenant leases and ground leases
- Assist with the preparation of the asset retirement obligation estimate and further analysis
- Assist with the preparation of fixed assets rollforwards and accounts reconciliations, including the related depreciation and amortization
- Assist with purchase price allocations for multiple acquisitions
- Assist with holdback and earnout reconciliation
- Assist with the adoption of new lease accounting ASC 842 / IFRS 16 and any other new accounting pronouncements
- Work closely with external auditors and provide any supporting documentation as needed.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities, including preparation of high-level journal entries and reconciliations
- Assist with any other technical accounting task assigned
- Assist with the preparation of footnote disclosure for financial statements on related assigned areas

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Position works in a normal office environment. Standing, sitting, and walking required daily. Occasional travel may be required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years of related experience required
- Excellent analytical skills, motivation, and confidence to independently address issues
- Detailed-oriented and able to work as a team
- Be able to meet hard deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft AX, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Must have ability to interface with other departments and professionally represent the division
- Audit background in a Big 4 or a top-tier accounting firm is a plus
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus
