Job Description
The Shipping Clerk will manage the outbound flow of goods, ensuring orders are accurately prepared, packed, documented, and shipped. Key duties include preparing bills of lading, verifying inventory, labeling, scheduling carriers, and tracking shipments.
Role and responsibilities
Generate required paperwork, including Bill of Lading, customs paperwork, and pro forma invoices.
Coordinate daily product movements with sales and customers.
Confirm product availability & build loads in the ERP system.
Coordinate with the warehouse for orders with fittings.
Pre-call customers before shipment, as required.
Perform data entry in ERP system.
Communicate with customer service via email and phone calls.
Research and resolve purchase order issues and complete necessary corrections.
Track proof of delivery.
Participate in monthly and year-end inventory processes.
Ensure all third-party personnel have completed the onsite safety video and required safety sign-off.
Demonstrate a proactive commitment to quality by strictly following work instructions, proactively prevent quality issues and promptly inform your supervisor of any issue found.
Actively promote, follow, and take responsibility for health and safety practices in all aspects of the role
All other related tasks are considered part of the role and may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
High school diploma, equivalent or work experience
Experience in a manufacturing or equivalent environment.
Ability to read technical drawings
Technical problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a group
Ability to adapt quickly to different situations
Positive attitude
Ability to lift and push 50 pounds, 50 times per day.
Manual dexterity and attention to detail
Knowledge of the VKS system – an asset
Valid forklift license
Previous experience with JDE and SAP - an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong mathematic skills
Master the French and English language (customers and clients from the United States).
