POSITION:         ISI ASSISTANT TEACHER-PARAPROFESSIONAL


COMMENCING DATE:        July 23, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1.  High School Diploma
2. Completed at least 2 years of study (48 semester hours) at an  institution of  higher education;  or obtained an associate's (or higher) degree
3. Or prior to 2017 met the ACT Work Keys Requirements -Reading for Information score of 4, Applied Mathematics score of 4 and Writing or Business Writing score of 3; or
4. After 2017, teacher assistants need to meet the Work Keys Silver Level certification
5. Interpersonal skills in working with students, professional colleagues, administration, parents, and community
6. Strong written and oral communication skills: grammar, spelling, punctuation
7. Good physical condition with ability to lift 10 pounds

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Orient students assigned to in-school isolation as to behavior required and penalties for infractions of rules.
2. Communication with in-school suspension administrator for direction and evaluation.
3. Supervision of procedures and assignments at all times.
4. Maintenance of program free of disruptive activities or behavior.
5. Proper maintenance of orderly, accurate records.
6. Knowledge of and compliance with school policies established by administration and Board.
7. Completion of all other duties as assigned by administration.

SALARY: Commensurate with the Ocean Springs salary schedule for classified positions for the 2026-2027 school year.
