Role Overview

The Senior Director of Strategy plays a critical leadership role across the International Networks and DTC organization. Acting as a trusted partner to the Senior Leadership Team, this role will drive the development, prioritization and delivery of the strategy for the business, ensuring sustainable growth across both linear and direct-to-consumer businesses.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to define, own, and deliver the International Networks and DTC strategic roadmap.
  • Together with the SVP Strategy and Insights, lead the end-to-end strategy pipeline, ensuring strong prioritisation, governance, and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the end-to-end business planning process, including financial modeling, strategic analysis, and development of compelling presentations to analyze and support new business initiatives.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional programmes including pricing strategy, territory expansion, and business model transformation.
  • Collaborate with the senior leaders to oversee the operational rollout of strategic initiatives, ensuring delivery against financial, operational, and timing objectives.
  • Work on business modelling, scenario planning, and evaluation of commercial opportunities across International Networks and DTC.
  • Own and evolve the Strategy prioritisation framework, presenting clear insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Design and implement a KPI framework to monitor business performance, providing regular reporting and insights to the SLT.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, unlocking efficiency, integration, and simplification across the business.
  • Lead the innovation pipeline, including oversight of innovation programmes.
  • Champion adoption of AI, analytics, and emerging technologies in partnership with Prism, NBCUniversal’s AI team.
  • Partner with Finance on long-range planning, annual budgets, and reforecasting cycles.
  • Deliver high-impact executive communications, presentations, and decision papers for SLT forums and Town Halls.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development oversight for the Strategy team, including performance management and succession planning.
  • Provide the management team with timely and relevant insights on industry trends, competitive landscape shifts, innovations, and revenue opportunities, enabling informed strategic decisions.

Basic Requirements: 

  • Extensive experience in strategy, consulting, or corporate development within media, DTC, or technology – ideally a combination of both streaming and traditional linear TV.
  • Proven track record of leading enterprise-level, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including business modelling and investment evaluation.
  • Deep understanding of the television media business including linear TV and direct-to-consumer/streaming business models.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Advanced skills with Excel & Microsoft Office Suite and/or other relevant tools for delivering financial analysis, scenario planning and compelling presentations.
  • Experience managing a team of analysts and strategy professionals based in multiple locations
  • Comfortable working in a matrix organisation with multiple senior executive stakeholders.
  • Prior experience working across multiple territories.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or professional qualification in business management, finance, entrepreneurship or related field.
