Your Role

 

Radio-Canada Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec is seeking a versatile videojournalist to be based in our Shawinigan station. Reporting to the Associate Managing Editor, Dominique Panebianco, you will focus on gathering and presenting daily news stories that deeply resonate with the Shawinigan-area community. Your stories will be published on the RC Info app and broadcast across all other Radio-Canada platforms. To succeed in this role, you must have a sharp talent for both text-based and vertical video storytelling.


We are looking for a creative, resourceful, thorough and highly independent journalist who excels at breaking down complex information for the public. You must also be able to thrive under pressure, conduct your own research and newsgathering, and confidently package and present your material across multiple platforms.


Profile sought


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in journalism or equivalent

Skills:

  • Strong reporting skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Premiere editing software, an asset
  • Strong on-air presence and dynamism
  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Ability to generate original story ideas and approach them creatively
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and frequent unexpected overtime
  • Flexibility to regularly contribute to radio programs, national television, and web platforms
  • Creativity in problem-solving
  • Strong creativity, imagination, motivation, and synthesis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in French, English as an asset
  • Valid driver’s license

Selected candidates will be required to undergo:

  • French language and general knowledge tests
  • Interview
