Job Description Summary
The Lead Engineer will be responsible for onsite installation of motors and generators systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation. And provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, Commissioning, refurbishment, Startup, Maintenance,
- Trouble Shooting & Upgrading of Medium Voltage synchronous and induction motors , generators , excitation & AVR systems. With knowledge on Medium Voltage Variable speed drives systems.
- Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services.
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites.
- Writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basis.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
- Maintain strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of field service experience with medium voltage motors, generators, excitation systems, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
- Hands on experience in electrical testing and commissioning of electrical rotating machines and drives systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time, as required
