Marvell is a leading provider of innovative storage technologies, including ultra-fast read channels, high-performance processors, leading edge transceivers, highly efficient analog designs, and powerful cryptographic engines. Many of the same technologies have been utilized in Marvell storage system solutions products, powering PCs, servers, cloud, and enterprise systems.

This team that is based out of Hyderabad/Bangalore is looking for talented, self driven and motivated hands-on engineer to work on developing software for Marvell's Octeon series of silicons. Scope of the work involves developing device drivers, work with hardware team in defining new silicon architecture / features, work with marketing team in addressing customer reported issues.

What You Can Expect

  • Develop and maintain Linux kernel device drivers with a focus on networking (netdev) subsystems.

  • Contribute to the Linux kernel upstreaming process, including patch preparation, submission, and community interaction.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and provide timely fixes for customer and internal issues.

  • Analyze kernel networking driver performance and optimize driver behavior for latency, throughput, and scalability.

What We're Looking For

  • Good experience in Linux kernel device driver development.

  • Hands-on experience with Linux kernel networking (netdev) driver development.

  • Familiarity with the linux kernel upstreaming process is a plus.

  • Familiar with PCIe concepts, SRIOV capability, knowledge of Linux PCIe subsystem.

  • Should have basic understanding of Linux kernel memory management, synchronisation techniques, interrupts handling and IOMMU concepts.

  • Strong programming skills in C.

  • Good problem-solving, debugging and documentation skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 3-5 years of related professional experience.
    Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 2 years of experience.
