Sun Prairie East High School
Sun Prairie Area School District is seeking an equity-driven, experienced, and collaborative leader who is passionate about special education to serve as the Student Services Program Coordinator at Sun Prairie East High School.
This position partners closely with building administration to lead the successful implementation of special education supports and services for students in grades 9�12 and our adult transition program.
Key Responsibilities & Scope
- Compliance & Caseload Management: Oversee paperwork compliance and special education legal mandates for approximately 150 students with disabilities.
- Instructional Leadership: Partner with East High School administration to support 13 special education teachers and approximately 10 special education assistants in successfully implementing the Sun Prairie Instructional Framework.
- Adult Transition Services: Collaborate directly with the West High School Coordinator to oversee shared adult transition services, leading a team of 4 teachers and 10 assistants.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Navigate complex, sensitive situations independently and collaboratively alongside teams of caregivers, teachers, administrators, students, and community providers.
Qualifications & Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a self-directed leader who can work with minimal supervision while maintaining strong, empathetic community connections. Strong candidates will possess:
- Proven experience in secondary special education teaching and/or leadership.
- Deep expertise in understanding and applying special education law, with a strong track record of maintaining compliance.
- A deeply rooted commitment to educational equity and inclusive practices.
