Job Summary
The buyer handles orders that involve making judgments such as choosing which specific product or material from the established vendor product lines which will satisfy the customer’s needs or determining the price to be quoted when pricing involves more than merely referring to a price list or making some simple mathematical calculations.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Determining availability of ordered items and suggesting substitutes when necessary

Advising expected delivery date and method of delivery

Recording order and customer information on order sheets

Checking order sheets for accuracy and adequacy of information

Order follow-up

Maintains order files and verifies shipping invoices against original orders.
Qualifications

Use catalogs or manufacturer’s manual to ensure proper item is supplied or to verify the price of order.

Pay Range: $40.29 per hour
