Registered Nurse - Pediatric ED
Job Description
Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the Unit Director for overall work performance.
Required Qualifications:
- This position requires a minimum two years of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a Pediatric Emergency Department.
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN)
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Current American Heart Association CPR certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
Current American Heart Association PALS certification
