Position Summary

Provides day-to-day supervision of security and fire personnel at assigned site(s) and may travel between locations as necessary. Serves as a mentor to security supervisors and officers while ensuring the effective delivery of security and fire protection services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with client requirements, site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Inter-Con policies and procedures, and all applicable regulations.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
  • Evaluates risks and ensures adequate staffing and coverage for assigned site(s), including compliance with post orders, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Advises management of emergency situations and ensures personnel respond appropriately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Researches and recommends best practices, process improvements, and operational initiatives; ensures company policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Interfaces with client management to discuss security and fire services, identify areas of concern, provide recommendations, and implement corrective actions. Supports theft prevention and loss prevention initiatives and tracks related activities through completion.
  • Assists in the selection, onboarding, development, and retention of personnel in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provides emergency response guidance to management and ensures security personnel respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
  • Ensures security staffing schedules are developed and maintained to meet contractual and operational requirements.
  • Ensures personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • Coordinates with regional and corporate security leadership regarding operational progress, ongoing issues, and the consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Conducts quarterly and annual reviews utilizing established compliance and quality assurance processes. Maintains corrective action plans and recommendations.
  • Conducts annual site vulnerability assessments and provides recommendations regarding operations, policies, procedures, and technology applications.
  • Ensures accurate billing and invoicing for security services and conducts periodic audits to verify compliance.
  • Monitors compliance with regulatory, safety, and fire protection requirements.
  • Develops, maintains, and coordinates effective communication with local emergency responders and public safety agencies.
  • Ensures the consistent administration of client service agreements, company policies, and applicable labor agreements.
  • Maintains records and documentation in accordance with company record retention policies and client requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion regarding sensitive information.
  • Performs multiple functions simultaneously while effectively prioritizing assignments and operational demands.
  • Recommends improvements to workflows, reporting procedures, operational efficiencies, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Organizes workload to ensure effective implementation of responsibilities and projects.
  • Responds to site emergencies and directs security operations as necessary. Ensures personnel respond appropriately in accordance with site procedures and company policies.
  • Responds to fire emergencies as part of the site’s emergency response or fire brigade team and assists in controlling or extinguishing incipient-stage fires using appropriate equipment.
  • Ensures incidents are reported, documented, investigated, and communicated in accordance with company and client procedures. Identifies trends and ensures corrective actions are implemented and tracked to completion.
  • Maintains current First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Ensures the hot work permit process is properly administered and documented.
  • May supervise personnel performing fire protection and emergency response functions.
  • Reports to designated site leadership and company management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible security, public safety, military, law enforcement, fire service, or related experience; five (5) years preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of security operations and supervisory practices.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex information, develop sound conclusions, and implement practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities with the confidence to make decisions and provide direction.
  • Ability to act decisively during emergency situations.
  • Ability to physically respond to medical and emergency incidents.
  • Ability to support and facilitate organizational change.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels and across diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and leader.
  • Strong interpersonal, diplomatic, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Working knowledge of access control, security technology, safety systems, and related equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are beneficial but not required.
