Sterile Processing Technologist Job Summary: Technologist coordinates and collaborates with the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for daily surgical procedures in surgery and related departments.

Sterile Processing Technologist Essential Accountabilities:
Clean, prepare, document, and terminally sterilize instruments accurately and efficiently.
Maintains competency of operating sterilizing equipment, instrumentation and supplies in the surgical setting.
Responsible for the coordination, assembly, and distribution of equipment and instruments for surgical cases.
Monitor surgery schedules daily, identifying general, specific, and potential needs for all cases.
Possesses strong communication and organization skills.
Maintains flexibility to adjust hours and duties as needed.
Always exhibit professionalism.
Maintains all credentialing satisfactorily.
Other duties as assigned.
Sterile Processing Technologist Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred completion of a National Central Service Technician course or Surgical Technologist program.
Preferred 6 months experience as a Sterile Process Technician
Ability to lift 10-20 lbs.; occasional life of heavy wight of 50+ lbs. (moving patients)
Skills:
Excellent organizational and strong communication skills
Ability to adjust work pace on a situational basis especially in times of emergency.
Accurately maintaining the sterilization process records.
Strong communication skills.
Computer skills related to Microsoft applications and EMR.
Competent knowledge base of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and equipment
