Job Description
We are seeking an experienced hands-on FinOps practitioner to support both the execution and build-out of our cloud and AI cost management capability. This role combines executional FinOps delivery with capability design responsibilities, helping establish scalable processes, governance, and reporting across cloud and AI spend.
You will partner with senior leadership while working directly with engineering, AI, and finance teams to improve cost transparency, forecasting, and optimization. The ideal candidate has practical FinOps experience and has worked within a financial services or similarly regulated environment, with strong attention to data quality, governance, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
FinOps Capability Design & Execution
Support the design and implementation of FinOps capabilities, including cost allocation, tagging standards, governance forums, reporting frameworks, and forecasting processes
Execute day-to-day FinOps processes across cloud infrastructure and AI/ML workloads, including cost allocation, anomaly detection, and showback/chargeback reporting
Develop and maintain cost transparency across cloud and AI spend, including reporting by business unit, application, platform, and AI use case
Analyze cloud and AI cost drivers, identifying trends, anomalies, and key contributors to spend variability
Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for both baseline cloud usage and variable AI consumption models (e.g., tokens, API calls, GPU usage)
Identify, prioritize, and track cost optimization opportunities across cloud infrastructure and AI workloads, and partner with engineering teams to drive execution
Maintain and enhance FinOps tooling, dashboards, and data pipelines, ensuring high-quality cost and usage data and improving tagging and allocation accuracy
Integrate AI cost management into FinOps processes, including tracking model usage, GPU consumption, and AI platform costs
Partner with cloud engineering, AI teams, finance, and procurement to drive cost accountability and informed decision-making
Support governance cadences such as monthly cost reviews and AI spend forums, enabling consistent monitoring and accountability
Contribute to continuous improvement of FinOps processes, identifying gaps and helping scale the capability as cloud and AI adoption grows
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or a related discipline.
8+ years of relevant experience
4+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or technology finance with hands-on execution responsibility
Experience working with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and strong understanding of consumption-based pricing models
Proven ability to analyze cloud and AI spend data and translate it into actionable insights and optimization opportunities
Experience partnering with technical teams (engineering, AI, etc.) and finance stakeholders in a cross-functional environment
Strong analytical and data skills, including proficiency in Excel and experience with cost reporting and allocation frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with AI cost drivers, including token-based pricing, GPU usage, and model training vs. inference economics
Experience with FinOps or cloud cost management tools such as Flexera, Apptio, or native cloud platforms
Experience contributing to FinOps capability design, including reporting frameworks, governance models, or forecasting processes
