Job Summary
An exciting opportunity to work with employees across across the Mass General Brigham system to execute high risk contracts with a variety of vendors in support of our mission to deliver patient care, teaching, research and commitment to the community. Reporting directly to the Corporate Manager of Non-Clinical Strategic Sourcing in Supply Chain Management, the Senior Contract Manager will manage a large portfolio of contracts that range in size, scope, value and complexity. The Senior Contract Manager will focus on delivering high value commercial and business terms in each contract that align with organizational objectives, and identifies and manages organizational risk by negotiating favorable contractual terms. The Senior Contract Manager will assist with determining and developing goals and objectives for the services provided by Supply Chain Management.Essential Functions:
- Negotiate agreements/contracts with vendors, ensuring timely completion, accurate terms, and market competitive rates.
- Build strategies to reach contract and savings targets in line with organizational expense management objectives.
- Deliver savings, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencies as a result of successful contract negotiations.
- Provides advice and guidance to the various contracts team members regarding contract development and negotiations.
- Create, edit, and review the most complex contracts. Signature authority negotiates contracts with significant complexities.
- Assist management in the development of goals and objectives for the contracts team.
- Find opportunities to improve business processes and/or savings opportunities and devise plans to implement these changes.
- Participate in RFP evaluation, market analyses, contract negotiation, and contract execution.
- Assist management with Leadership/Committees across the organization to develop category, vendor, and portfolio strategy.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field of study required
Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
Experience
5+ years of strategic sourcing, commercial contracting or contract management in healthcare experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of commercial contractual language in a healthcare setting including PHI, PI, data use, intellectual property rights, copyright issues, and compliance
Expertise in contract negotiations, cost savings, vendor management, and customer service.
Experience working in fast-paced environment and managing a high volume of work effectively
Accountable, self-driven and responsible individual who thrives in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to identify and lead critical initiatives
Experience negotiating with vendors in the related service line
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Exemplify creative problem solving abilities
Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
Strong digital literacy and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office.
Superior communication skills, crafting proposals, and delivering presentations to diverse stakeholders.
Exceptional problem-solving, developing innovative solutions for complex vendor and customer challenges.
Highly autonomous, mentoring teams and adapting swiftly to evolving industry trends.
