Position Overview
As the Development Writer, you'll play a vital role in advancing FSC's mission by creating compelling, mission-driven content that inspires investment in our work. You'll transform program outcomes, participant success stories, and organizational data into persuasive grant proposals, donor communications, and fundraising materials that demonstrate the life-changing impact of our services.
Your writing won't just secure funding—it will tell the stories that create opportunity for individuals, families, and communities across Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities
Develop compelling grant proposals, donor communications, and fundraising materials that effectively communicate FSC's mission, impact, and funding needs.
Research funding opportunities and collaborate across departments to gather program information, budgets, and outcome data that strengthen grant applications and fundraising initiatives.
Transform data into meaningful stories by crafting clear, persuasive narratives that connect measurable results with the real people and communities we serve.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
Three or more years of professional experience in grant writing, fundraising, development, communications, or nonprofit writing
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate both data and human impact
Strong research, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and building strong working relationships
A passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to helping strengthen communities through effective storytelling
