Salary Ranges and Ranks:  

Research Assistant: €21,000 - €32,000

Research Associate: €28,000 - €42,000

Senior Research Associate: €38,000 - €42,000

 The offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s seniority and relevant experience.

• Contribute to project activities, particularly the coordination of healthcare pilot studies involving the deployment and validation of cybersecurity solutions developed within the REINFORCE project on healthcare partners’ software systems. 
• Support the development of digital health and cybersecurity literacy resources, including training and educational material tailored to specific stakeholder groups. 
• Prepare project documentation, technical reports, user manuals, and material related to scientific, technical, training, and dissemination activities. 
• Participate in internal project meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and interdisciplinary discussions with project partners and stakeholders. 
• Assist in monitoring project progress and conducting evaluation and assessment tasks within the project. 
• Support the implementation, testing, and validation of AI-driven and cybersecurity-related solutions within healthcare environments. 

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. 
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and time-management skills. 
• Proactive, adaptable, and capable of responding effectively to evolving project requirements and priorities. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

About the project / position:

Project Title: AI-Enhanced Ecosystem for Reinforcing Cybersecurity in the European Healthcare Sector

Short Description:

The REINFORCE project addresses critical gaps in cybersecurity preparedness and resilience in the European healthcare sector by providing an AI-driven ecosystem that enhances healthcare providers' abilities to prevent, detect, and respond to sophisticated cyber threats. Its vision is a cyber-secure healthcare environment where organizations remain resilient to evolving risks and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of critical services.

The project is structured around four core pillars, validated in real-world healthcare environments: (i) systematic vulnerability assessment and security requirements mapping; (ii) Secure-by-Design framework implementation; (iii) AI-enabled real-time incident detection and response; and (iv) comprehensive cybersecurity training and awareness programs. These are supported by innovative technologies including advanced encryption, zero-trust architectures, and AI/ML solutions, complemented by tailored training for diverse healthcare stakeholders.

1. Minimum requirement: A B.Sc. and/or M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field from an accredited institution. 

1. An M.Sc. degree in a relevant field (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, Medical/Health Informatics, Cybersecurity) will be considered an advantage. 
2. Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, C, C++, C#, or R. 
3. Experience with statistical, machine learning, and deep learning methodologies, as well as related frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, OpenCV), will be considered an advantage. 
4. Statistical and mathematical background will be considered an advantage. 
5. Experience in image and video processing and analysis will be considered an advantage. 
6. Knowledge and/or practical experience in cybersecurity technologies, methodologies, and best practices will be considered an advantage. 
7. Project management skills will be considered an advantage.
8. Language requirements: Excellent written and oral English-language skills will be required.  
9. For non-EU applicants a work permit will be required
