How you’ll make an impact
- Design and develop mechanical components for power and distribution transformers
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models aligned with specifications
- Perform calculations for strength, vibration, thermal expansion, and structural integrity
- Partner with electrical engineers to deliver optimized, integrated designs
- Support manufacturing teams with technical guidance and design improvements
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA activities
- Collaborate with suppliers on material selection and component validation
- Contribute to testing, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in transformers or heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and mechanical design principles
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, CSA)
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and attention to detail
