Position Title: Staff Engineer
Job Description:
Develop new features and services that are medium-high level of complexity working with the product/platform/infrastructure/security team. Design, code, test, deploy & support working software /technology component, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers. Build systems and services that have immediate impact for our business. Create Threat Model, Architecture, Estimates, Design, Code, COTS configuration for the required business feature. Perform code analysis, debugging, review and execution of unit/integration tests. Deliver clean, secure, performant code /technology component that meets all the nonfunctional requirements. Create test automation scripts. Act in Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large initiatives, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues. Set up application jobs, creates test data, and supports deployment, all at a medium to high level of complexity. Lead discussions on design approaches to solving visible, strategic and complex business problems. Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley compliance and all TJX Company standards as applicable. Fully Own Epics with decreasing guidance. Lead and participate in Development process definitions, best practices and standards. Lead evaluation of 3rd party engagement need and SOW review process. Identify emerging technologies for consideration for new technology direction and implement proof of concepts to prove the new technology. Position is fixed location based in Marlborough, MA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.
Job Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of engineering experience. Experience must include:
Five (5) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Programming languages (Cobol), scripting languages (JCL, REXX, and Easytreive), and database query languages (SOL, DUI, and SAS).
- Computer Algorithms and Programming.
- Software Design & Architecture.
- Designing and implementing business functionality.
- End to end business application processes in Merchandise Planning. Incident and change management principles and best practices.
- DB2, IMS/CICS, and IMS DB/DC.
Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- DevSecOps best practices.
- Package Applications (COTS) and Supporting Technologies.
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary: $179,000.00 - $183,000 .00/year.
