Job Description

Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace. We share the collective intelligence and risk sharing expertise of the market’s brightest minds, working together for a braver world.

Our role is to inspire courage, so tomorrow’s progress isn’t limited by today’s risks.

Our shared values: we are brave; we are stronger together; we do the right thing; guide what we do and how we act. If you share our values and our passion to build a future that’s more sustainable, resilient and inclusive, you’ll find a home at Lloyd’s – build a braver future with us.

At Lloyd’s Europe, we believe strong markets are built on trust, openness and smart regulation. And right now, we’re looking for a Senior Associate, Public Affairs & Market Development to help shape how Lloyd’s Europe engages with Ireland and the wider European market.

This role puts you right at the centre of regulatory, governmental and market conversations that matter. You’ll represent one of the world’s most recognised insurance brands and help ensure Lloyd’s Europe is heard, understood and respected.

What you’ll be part of

You’ll join a small, highly engaged team in Dublin, working closely with the Ireland Country Manager, senior Lloyd’s Europe leaders and our EU Public Affairs and Market Development teams. Together, you’ll support the Lloyd’s Europe operating model and help deliver the European Market Strategy, with links to the London (re)insurance market.

This is a visible role. One where your insight, judgement and relationships really count.

What you’ll do

You’ll focus on what matters most. And do it well. That includes:

  • Supporting strategic engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland, Irish government departments, regulators, insurers, brokers and trade bodies.

  • Helping manage and respond to regulatory and supervisory requests from the CBI and other Irish authorities.

  • Monitoring regulatory and policy developments that affect Lloyd’s Europe’s trading rights—and helping advocate for sustained or improved access to the Irish market.

  • Maintaining local regulatory formalities, including updates to Irish business registers, to protect Lloyd’s Europe’s freedom of establishment licence.

  • Coordinating internal and external communication on regulatory developments, working with outsourced providers and industry stakeholders.

  • Supporting key regulatory change projects, including compliance activities, regulatory returns and data collections.

  • Contributing to regional initiatives with Corporate & Legal and Market Development colleagues across Europe.

  • Supporting legal and regulatory horizon scanning and contributing to tools such as the Crystal regulatory tool.

  • Helping unlock opportunities to strengthen Lloyd’s voice in Europe, particularly by leveraging Ireland’s connections with the London market. You’ll have space to think, contribute and influence. And the support to grow your impact.

What you’ll bring

We’re open-minded about background. You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply. But you’ll likely bring:

  • Experience working in or alongside regulatory, compliance, policy or supervisory environments.

  • Knowledge of Ireland’s insurance regulatory environment and how it works in practice.

  • An understanding of EU policymaking and, ideally, EU insurance or financial services regulation

  • Experience working in or alongside regulatory, compliance, policy or supervisory environments.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence building relationships with credibility and integrity.

  • Clear, persuasive communication skills, including the ability to present ideas simply and effectively.

  • Comfort working across cultures, teams and disciplines in a collaborative environment.

Experience engaging directly with the Central Bank of Ireland or Irish authorities is a plus—but not essential.

Why Lloyd’s Europe?

Because here, you have a voice. And we expect you to use it.

We work with openness, focus, integrity and empowerment. We trust people to make good decisions, speak up and ask questions. And we support each other to deliver work we’re proud of.

You’ll be encouraged to bring ideas, challenge constructively and help shape the future of the market—not just respond to it.

Diversity and inclusion are a focus for us – Lloyd’s aim is to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we work in.  One where everyone is treated with dignity and respect to achieve their full potential. In practice, this means we are positive and inclusive about making workplace adjustments, we offer regular health and wellbeing programmes, diversity and inclusion training, employee networks, mentoring and volunteering opportunities as well as investment into your professional development. You can read more about diversity and inclusion on our website.

By choosing Lloyd's, you'll be part of a team that brings together the best minds in the industry, and together with our underwriters and brokers, we create innovative, responsive solutions allowing us to share risk and solve complex problems.
