(Senior) Supply Chain ManagerProduction·United Kingdom·Hybrid
Job Description
Facility Location: Scunthorpe, UK
Work mode: Hybrid (typically 3 days on-site, with additional on-site presence when needed)
Reports to: Chief of Structural Engineering aka. Co-founder (Interim Head of UK Operations)
Type: Permanent, full-time
At Hyperion Robotics, we are cutting carbon and energy use from the ground up. We design and manufacture low-carbon, robotically produced concrete foundations for critical UK infrastructure, and our operations depend on materials, inventory, and supplier networks that are reliable, resilient, and aligned with production reality.
We are now looking for a Supply Chain Manager to take end-to-end both strategic and hands-on ownership of sourcing, planning, inventory control, logistics and supply risk management for our UK manufacturing operations. This is a critical role for someone who wants to build order, predictability, and trust across the supply chain in a growing industrial environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is not only technically strong, but also highly proactive, practical, and connected in how they work. You do not wait for problems to escalate. You stay close to the operation, work collaboratively across teams, and take ownership of getting the details right. You enjoy building systems that work in real life, not just on paper. Success in this role depends on your ability to combine structure and discipline with strong communication, follow-through, and a shared ownership mindset.
What It Means In Practice:
Building and executing sourcing strategies for bulk construction materials that balance cost, continuity of supply, and risk.
Developing strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and maintain a resilient supplier base.
Turning sales forecasts and production needs into realistic material and inventory plans.
Improving ERP/MRP logic, master data, and system usability so planning is accurate, practical, and easy for the team to work with.
Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, working closely with suppliers, haulage partners, warehouse, production, and project teams to keep flows reliable and aligned with operational needs.
Reducing shortages, excess stock, waste, and supply disruption through better planning, reporting, and contingency management.
Identifying other supply chain bottlenecks across day-to-day operations and proactively propose and implement practical improvements.
Who we’re looking for:
You have supply chain experience in manufacturing or bulk-material environments, ideally involving cement, aggregates, or similar commodities.
You understand well supply chain planning, inventory, and procurement in a practical operational setting, not just in theory.
You also have a strong understanding of logistics flows in a manufacturing or production environment.
You are confident building and using ERP/MRP systems and, ideally, improving how they are structured, maintained, and used in practice.
You can spot where a system creates friction, confusion, or poor data, and turn that into clearer processes and better ways of working.
You are proactive, detail-oriented, and ownership-driven.
You care about accuracy, follow-through, and preventing problems before they become bigger issues.
You work well across functions, communicate clearly, and build trust with both suppliers and internal teams.
You are motivated by improving flow, reducing variability, and creating systems people can rely on.
What we offer:
Fair compensation package, including benefits and stock options
Private medical insurance
Workplace pension scheme
25 annual leave days + statutory holidays
A high-impact role with significant ownership and autonomy
A growth opportunity for someone ready to expand from strong execution into broader strategic responsibility
