Fontanini located in McCook, IL just outside of Chicago is seeking a HR Trainer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in various aspects of Human Resources.
Pay Rate: $22.90
Position Summary: The HR Trainer is responsible for rolling out HR training initiatives for the plant as well as engaged in acclimating a new hire into their new role by supporting all aspects of training and retention initiatives. The HR Trainer will be instrumental in assisting Supervisors in addressing performance gaps in the early stages of employment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Actively engaged in independently scheduling and leading focused group discussions supporting Culture Survey participants (Plant Professionals) and Glint Survey participants (Office Hourly and Exempt). Supporting EBN Lead in all engagement activities.
- Support retention program through weekly new hire check points through the 1st 90 days of employment and sharing feedback with HR Manager and Supervisors.
- Assist conducting Exit Interviews with Plant Professionals
- Initiative and lead improved communication methods for employee communication- identifying efficient methods to deliver feedback i.e., evaluations conducted in Alchemy Coach.
- Responsible for the initial/annual training of Cultural Beliefs, Code of Ethics and State required Sexual Harassment training as well as additional Diversity in the Workplace and other HR training initiatives.
- Responsible for setting up formal weekly evaluations with the New Hire and Supervisor and helps create action items to address performance gaps within the first 3 months.
- Works with Supervisors and Safety Coordinator on setting up additional training i.e., forklift training, pallet truck training as needed.
- Works with Safety Coordinator and HR team to ensure employees returning from leave get setup with missed trainings, review of policies, retraining of safety program as needed.
- Provides support of translation of trainings in Spanish and helps in training communication with Supervisors.
- Active participation in walking the production floor as needed for employee communication daily.
- Maintains metrics of employee retention and provides ongoing feedback to help improve our new hire experience as well as for our tenured workforce.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to support training initiatives across all shifts.
- 60-70% engagement on the production floor, remaining time planning will be documenting and other administrative tasks.
- Engages in and may lead various plant committees.
- Participates in plant tours as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
Minimum of 3 years working in a HR capacity.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and strong multi-tasking skills.
Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software.
Bilingual; English and Spanish is required.
