Job Description

Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Automotive Service Technology:
  • Hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent or higher;
  • Hold valid certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in one of the following:
  1. Automobile & Light Truck Certification (Series A):  in all four areas of:  Suspension and Steering (A4); Brakes (A5); Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6); and Engine Performance (A8); or
  2. Auto Maintenance and Light Repair Certification (Test G1); and
  • Have at least (2) years of occupational work experience in the field.
  • As outlined in GaPSC Rule 505-2-08 CAREER TECHNICAL AND AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION, paragraph (3)(e), applicants meeting all requirements with the exception of industry testing and/or licensure may be issued a (3) year induction certificate in this area of specialization.

Job Summary:

The Instructor of Automotive Service Technology is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in various Automotive courses and assisting students in earning various certifications.  Responsibilities of this position include assisting in the development and execution of a long term growth stategy for the automotive program.
