AI is rewriting the rules of legal practice. We're not watching — we're building.
CV Labs is the product and growth studio inside CanadaVisa, Canada's immigration engine. Our ecosystem reaches 1.5 million visitors per month, powers the country's largest immigration peer community (~1M members), processes thousands of cases per year, and delivers personalized guidance to 180,000+ registered users. We have distribution that most startups would kill for — and the engineering team to do something extraordinary with it.
We're building an AI-native law firm. Our lawyers don't just serve clients — they collaborate with engineers to automate their own workflows, shape the product roadmap, and push the limits of what AI can do in a regulated practice. The goal isn't to use technology to make lawyers 10% faster. It's to rethink from first principles how legal services are delivered, who can access them, and what a legal career looks like in 2026 and beyond.
We've spent 50+ years earning the trust that immigration clients don't give easily — and built a brand they search for by name. Think of us as the best parts of a rocketship with the credibility of an institution.
The Opportunity
We have more demand than we can serve. Across our practice areas — work permits, inadmissibility, family class, Express Entry, and more — qualified leads come to us every day through our content, our community, and our search dominance. Right now, most of them never get a callback. Not because the demand isn't real, but because we don't have enough sharp, licensed people to convert it.
That's the opportunity. This isn't a role where you'll fight for leads — it's a role where you'll finally work the ones we're already leaving on the table. The leads are here today. The infrastructure to serve them exists. The only bottleneck is talent.
We're hiring licensed professionals who can advise clients with authority, close with conviction, and help us rethink how a legal practice converts and serves clients at scale.
The Role
You'll own a book of business in one of our practice areas — speaking with prospective clients who come to us through our channels, assessing their situation, and guiding them toward the right service. For many of our clients, the conversation with you is the product: they won't move forward until someone who knows what they're talking about tells them where they stand. Your judgment is what earns the engagement.
You'll operate at the intersection of legal practice, sales, and product. You'll own the client relationship from first conversation through retainer, work closely with the department team that services the file, and partner with our product and engineering team to automate the parts of your job that should be automated. You'll report to the Chief Growth Officer and work as part of a growth function that treats each practice area like its own business.
What You'll Do
Advise and convert. Speak with prospective clients across one or more practice areas. Assess their situation, explain their options clearly, and guide them toward the right service. You'll turn interest into signed clients — and you'll be the reason someone trusts us with one of the most important decisions of their life.
Own your numbers. You'll carry a revenue target and the autonomy to hit it. The leads are warm and the demand is real; your job is to convert at velocity without ever cutting corners on quality or compliance.
Build the machine. Collaborate with our product and engineering team to automate intake, qualification, and follow-up. Today a consultation might take 30 minutes of your time. We want to compress everything that doesn't need your judgment, so you spend your time where it counts. You'll help us figure out how.
10x yourself with AI. You'll use AI every day — to research, to prepare, to follow up, to manage your pipeline, to handle the work that used to take a team. We expect you to come in fluent and push us further. The lawyers who win here aren't replaced by AI; they're the ones using it to do the work of five.
Stress-test our tools. You'll be among the first to use our platform in production. When something misses a nuance, you'll catch it, document it, and work with the team to fix it.
Codify what works. Build the playbooks, scripts, and training materials that let us ramp the next hire in days, not months. As we grow, the best version of what you do becomes how everyone does it.
Who You Are
Licensed and in good standing. You're a lawyer (member of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society) or a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the CICC. Either way, you're authorized to advise and represent clients on Canadian immigration matters.
A closer. You're persuasive, clear, and concise. You can explain a complex situation to a nervous first-time client and make them feel confident in minutes. You're energized — not drained — by a full calendar.
A fast learner. Deep experience in any one practice area is a plus, not a prerequisite. We've built AI-powered training tools that can get you up to speed quickly. We'd rather hire someone with killer instincts and teach them the domain than the reverse.
AI-native. You've used Claude, ChatGPT, and the tools built on them, and you've thought seriously about what they mean for legal work. You don't just tolerate working alongside AI — you're already doing it, and you're excited to push it further. You know what 10x efficiency actually looks like in practice.
A systems thinker. When you solve a problem twice, you ask why it isn't automated. You don't need to write code, but you think in workflows, edge cases, and scalable processes.
Startup-wired. You want ownership, speed, and impact. You're not looking for a playbook someone else wrote — you want to write it. You thrive where the rules are still being figured out. This is not a general counsel seat or a place to manage from behind a desk; it's a builder's role at the front line of the business.

Why CV Labs
This is one of those rare roles where the ceiling is as high as you want to make it. You'll join a small team with direct access to leadership, real clients from day one, and a mandate to rebuild how a legal practice grows. The demand is already here. The infrastructure to capture it already exists. The only bottleneck is talent.
If you've ever looked at how law is practiced and thought there has to be a better way — this is your chance to prove it.
