Job Overview

The Program Coordinator, Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership, McCourt School of Public Policy – Georgetown University, is responsible for a portfolio of executive certificate programs, managing all aspects of the program implementation under the direction of the Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership’s Associate Director. The Program Coordinator ensures the on-time delivery of high-quality academic programs and troubleshoots all problems when programs are in session, minimizing the impact on students and faculty.

Duties of the Program Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Project management: Supports the recruitment for executive certificate participants, including the development of marketing materials, website and social media posts, in-person events and advertising.

  • Communicates with current and future students about the application process, tuition payments, and other program logistics.

  • Oversees communications with Program alumni.

  • Assists the Associate Director in hiring undergraduate interns who support the Center’s project management and communications.

  • Supervises up to 2 interns and manages their performance, including handling low level conflict.

  • Works with the University Registrar and Student Accounts to register students for the programs and ensure tuition payments are made.

  • Oversees event planning for the executive certificate programs including – room reservations catering, AV, program materials, and communicating logistics with faculty and students.

Work Interactions

The Program Coordinator reports directly to CPNL’s Associate Director and interacts with internal and external partners. Internal partners include the Office of the University Registrar, Student Accounts, Classroom Education Technology Services, and Event Management Services. Externally, the Program Coordinator will interact with off-site vendors.

The Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership helps advance the goals of the McCourt School of Public Policy by preparing leaders who can work for the public good across all sectors. The Center’s programs focus on experiential education, research, and public convenings. The Program Coordinator will have the opportunity to work with the Center's renowned faculty and meet top leaders in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector through our programs and issue forums. Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree (or comparable work experience) and 0-2 years of experience working in academic program management required.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills plus excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

  • Commitment to student success as part of an equitable and diverse community.

  • Exceptional communication skills in customer services, problem-solving, and mediation.

  • Self-motivated; independent, organized, and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable.

  • Technical aptitude and the ability to pick up new technology quickly.

  • Experience managing multiple projects with multiple constituents and excellent time management.

  • Understanding of appropriate and confidential communication, file management, and storage.

  • Must be knowledgeable in Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Zoom, WordPress, Constant Contact, Canva

Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Hybrid.  The Program Manager will be required to work in the office three times a week on the same days as the Center’s Associate Director. The Program Manager will also have to work onsite during executive certificate programs and other events.  Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.  Such review may necessitate a change to a position’s mode of work designation. Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$20.16 - $31.30

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
