Responsibilities
- Function as RNFA in perioperative care, assisting the primary surgeon during operative procedures and maintaining a safe surgical field.
- Coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care in the perioperative period; monitor patient status pre-, intra-, and post-operatively.
- Provide direct patient care and assist with positioning, instrument handling, hemostasis, tissue handling, and wound closure as directed by the surgeon.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, circulating nurses, and the surgical team to ensure adherence to standards of care and patient safety.
- Document perioperative care, operative findings, and patient responses; ensure accurate handoffs to postoperative teams.
- Uphold professional standards of nursing practice and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the perioperative department.

Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license in good standing
- RNFA (First Assist) experience in perioperative services, functioning under the direction of the primary operating surgeon
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards, patient safety, sterile technique, and instrumentation
- Ability to work a 4x10-hour day shift and travel for a temporary assignment in Templeton, CA
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines in a fast-paced perioperative setting
- Ability to obtain and maintain required credentialing and onboarding for the assignment
