This role will be onsite at our Charlotte One South office in Charlotte, NC.

Summary:
The Consulting Systems Engineer is intended to serve as a career path option for highly skilled technology professionals who do not necessarily have direct supervisory responsibility, but rather lead/participate in projects/initiatives of a significant technical nature. As this is highly specialized, it is expected that the number of colleagues assigned to this position will be minimal. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides strategic technical and consultative leadership and ownership on the most complex technical matters. 
• Analyzes, designs, and develops systems based upon identified user specifications. 
• Provides technical leadership in solving highly complex hardware, software or process problems. 
• May address problems of systems integration, compatibility and multiple platforms. 
• Expected to proactively identify areas of opportunity and/or risk and to drive their ultimate resolution. 
• Possesses across the board knowledge of the Huntington IT environment and how the various systems are interconnected. 
• Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington. 
• Expected to identify training needs and/or train less experienced staff. 
• Serves as project leader for specific projects, which are highly complex and strategic in nature.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ additional years of equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of related experience in systems engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive, technical project management experience
• Strong communication skills & ability to connect teams towards common goals
