Job Description
Who we are
With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.
What we need
The Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations and statutory accounting activities of Symbotic Vietnam Company Limited, in close coordination with third-party accounting and payroll service providers. This role ensures that all financial activity is accurately captured, reviewed, and reflected in the Company’s financial statements in accordance with Vietnamese statutory requirements and US corporate reporting standards. Additionally, the Regional Controller will support other functional areas (e.g., HR; Legal) with local representation.
The Regional Controller serves as the primary local finance owner for the Vietnam entity, managing and reviewing the work performed by external accounting, tax, and payroll providers, ensuring data accuracy, issue resolution, and on-time delivery of filings, reports, and audit support. While statutory bookkeeping, tax filings, and payroll processing are outsourced, this role retains responsibility for oversight, validation, and completeness of all financial records.
This role reports to the International Controller located in the United States.
What we do
Acting as a key liaison between the Vietnam operations, external service providers, and US headquarters, the Regional Controller supports budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operational finance initiatives. The role is highly hands-on, requiring detailed review, follow-up, and coordination to ensure compliance, strong internal controls, and effective financial operations in a cross-border environment.
What you’ll do
Oversee day-to-day operations for the Vietnam entity by managing and reviewing work performed by third-party accounting providers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records
Act as the primary representative locally supporting the Company in dealings with local government agencies
Own the vendor payment process end-to-end, including review and validation of supporting documentation (VAT invoices, executed contracts, approvals) and ensuring payments comply with local tax requirements and corporate authorization policies
Coordinate and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory and management reporting deliverables prepared by external providers
Monitor compliance with Vietnamese statutory accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements by overseeing external filings and proactively identifying, escalating, and resolving compliance risks and issues
Serve as the local point of contact for external auditors, accounting firms, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies, coordinating audits, statutory filings, signing legal documents, and attending to information requests
Act as the finance lead for the Vietnam entity, providing day-to-day financial oversight and support to local operations while ensuring alignment with US headquarters expectations
Partner with US FP&A team to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to inform decision-making
Partner cross-functionally with Corporate Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations to align financial and operational priorities and support execution
Oversee operational execution related to vendor management, procurement processes, and cost tracking to ensure efficiency and financial discipline
Monitor and evaluate operational and financial performance metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, controls, and workflows, particularly related to outsourced service models, to enhance scalability, efficiency, and control maturity
Directly supervise local staff, performing detailed reviews of their work to ensure accuracy, compliance with internal controls, and timely completion of all deliverables
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
