What You Will Do We are seeking a hands-on, action-oriented Account Manager to drive execution and grow our Neighborhood Pet (NHP), Farm & Feed, and independent retail business. This highly field-based role requires regular travel to support regional accounts, distributor partners, and retail locations. The Account Manager will own in-store execution, expand distribution, and build strong relationships across HQ accounts, store teams, and distributor partners. This role also serves as a key link between the field and internal teams to ensure consistent, high-quality execution. Success in this role means growing distribution, improving retail execution, and delivering consistent sales growth across the territory.   How You Will Make an Impact Manage a portfolio of Neighborhood Pet and Farm & Feed accounts to drive sales velocity by optimizing assortment and placement Identify and execute opportunities to expand distribution with optimal assortment and grow in-store presence Support new store acquisition and expansion within existing accounts Distributor and account support Build strong working relationships with store managers, regional contacts, and distributor partners Partner with distributor representatives to improve key retail metrics and account penetration Train and educate distributor reps and store teams on Freshpet products, merchandising standards, and product superiority   In-store execution and performance Execute retail priorities to ensure strong in-store presence and performance Audit stores regularly to ensure compliance with planograms (POG), in-stock levels, and chiller conditions Identify and resolve execution gaps including out-of-stocks, voids, and merchandising concerns Ensure strong in-store standards are consistently met, including POG standards, new item placement and rapid distribution build   Cross-Functional Coordination Partner with internal teams and own coordination (sales, marketing, operations) to ensure alignment with retail strategies and execution Proactively identify and help resolve execution issues to maintain strong in-store presence Share insights to improve processes and retail performance   Performance tracking and insights Use available tools (Nielsen, Power BI, internal reporting) to track performance and identify areas for improvement Monitor key performance indicators including distribution, velocity and in-stock levels Share field insights and opportunities to improve retail conditions What You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2–5 years of experience in CPG, retail, or sales (pet or perishable experience a plus) Willingness to travel frequently (50–70%) and spend significant time in the field Strong work ethic with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset Ability to build relationships quickly and communicate effectively at the store and distributor level Basic analytical skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (experience with Nielsen, Salesforce, or Power BI a plus) High level of ownership, accountability, and desire to learn and grow within the organization What Success Looks Like •             Expanded distribution and in-store presence across the territory •             Strong in-store execution with high compliance and minimal out-of-stocks •             Improved sales velocity across key accounts •             Strong relationships with store teams and distributor partners What We Offer The range for this position is:  $75,000 - $95,000 At Freshpet, we offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, basic and optional life insurance, short- and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts, and a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, pet insurance, tuition assistance, a generous PTO plan and so much more!
