Position Summary...
As a Distinguished Product Manager for Sparky, Walmart’s personal shopping assistant, you will be a key driver of customer value, business performance, and platform scalability. Reporting to the Group Director, you will focus on the intersection of AI orchestration, transactional commerce, and platform monetization. Your charter is to ensure Sparky is not only helpful, but operationally efficient, commercially effective, and scalable across Walmart’s ecosystem.This role is best suited for a product leader who can operate across applied AI systems, experimentation, and retail economics — translating conversational, multi-modal engagement into measurable business value.

About Team:
These roles support Project Sparky, an AI-powered assistant. Sparky helps users manage everyday shopping tasks—such as ordering groceries or scheduling car services—by remembering preferences and past interactions to streamline repeat activities. The project is deeply rooted in generative AI and creating the groundwork to move towards agentic AI by enabling personalized, context-aware assistance that evolves with user behavior.
What you’ll do (Top responsibilities)
Conversational Commerce
- Define the business logic and prioritization frameworks that balance customer intent, relevance, operational cost, and commercial outcomes.
- Partner with Marketplace, Customer Care, and category teams to identify conversational flows that improve conversion, reduce escalations, or drive incremental GMV.
- Optimize conversational journeys for measurable business outcomes including task completion, containment, conversion, and retention.
Agent Platform & Domain Enablement
- Define the product strategy for scalable agent enablement across retail domains including Grocery, Electronics, and Marketplace.
- Build reusable frameworks that allow internal teams to launch domain-specific conversational capabilities while maintaining platform consistency, trust, and performance standards.
- Ensure conversational capabilities are designed for reuse across international markets and Sam’s Club.
Experimentation & Decision Systems
- Lead experimentation strategy across conversational UX, recommendation logic, and agent behaviors.
- Treat routing accuracy, intent resolution, and containment as measurable business levers tied directly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Translate platform metrics such as latency, routing precision, and token utilization into business-facing KPIs and executive reporting.
Personalization & Trust
- Define how behavioral and loyalty signals are incorporated into conversational experiences while maintaining customer trust and relevance.
- Partner with legal, policy, and governance teams to ensure responsible use of personalization and AI-driven recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years in Product Management with experience spanning platform products, AI/ML systems, or commerce infrastructure.
- Experience owning products tied directly to business outcomes such as conversion, monetization, operational efficiency, or retention.
- Strong technical fluency with modern AI systems including LLM-powered experiences, retrieval systems, orchestration frameworks, or recommendation platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex experimentation programs and use data to drive product and business decisions.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills across Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and Business teams. Experience operating at scale within consumer technology, retail, marketplace, or platform environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in wholesale club, big‑box retail, or grocery environments.
- Background in AI/ML, data science, or computer vision applications in Club or merchandising contexts.
- Prior experience establishing or scaling a technology center/COE in India or another global location.
