Job Overview:
As an Information Security Intern, you will support the security team in protecting sensitive healthcare data and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This role is designed for learning and hands-on exposure to real-world security practices, including risk assessment, monitoring, and policy implementation.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and AI governance frameworks.
Stay updated with evolving compliance standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in awareness initiatives related to security and compliance best practices.
Assist in reviewing and documenting information security policies and procedures.
Support the team in conducting basic risk assessments and identifying potential security issues.
Track remediation actions and follow up on identified audit findings or risk items.
Participate in security awareness sessions and help promote security best practices across teams.
Assist in audit evidence collection and documentation tasks.
Support internal audit activities and compliance checks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA).
Help maintain documentation related to security incidents and processes.
Collaborate with team members on ongoing security projects and initiatives.
Assist in business continuity and disaster recovery documentation (BCP/DR).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic understanding of Information Security concepts (CIA triad, access control, risk management).
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS is a plus.
Awareness of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) principles.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
