Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $26.65 - $40.87. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

Leaves of Absence:

  • Create new leave cases in our timekeeping system (Kronos Dimensions), which ties directly into Workday (HRIS)
  • Confirm leave of absence details with third party administrator and state leave providers
  • Calculates eligible sick and/or vacation time
  • Enters time and payroll into the timekeeping system, timely and accurately, for employees on approved leaves of absence, partnering with internal and external parties where appropriate
  • Advise managers and/or timekeepers on leave-related time code inquiries
  • Maintains leave records with accuracy in accordance with department requirements
  • Responds to employee inquiries about leave policies, claim status, or time and pay while on leave, and directs or escalates to appropriate resources
  • Pull leave of absence reports; assist in identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Collects incoming leave of absence mail and fax correspondence
  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality of medical and personal information in accordance with HIPAA policies and procedures


YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum of one year of Payroll/HRIS/ Leave Administration experience - coupled with general knowledge of Lawson HRIS and Kronos Time & Attendance.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

HAZARDS OSHA
OSHA Category 1 - plus. Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials. Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards. Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens. OSHA Category 3.Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials and Category 1 tasks are not a condition of employment.

POSITION & UNIT ACCOUNTABILITIES



  • Demonstrates HSS Principals/Standards in Delivering Quality Services - Reviews LOA applications. Reviews all applications for LOA, communicates approvals and/or denials, return to work and other important information to managers, employees and HR.
  • Demonstrates HSS Principals/Standards in Delivering Quality Services - Reviews request for accommodation. Works to determine eligibility for ADA requests based on medical certification and questionnaire completed by physician.
  • Demonstrates HSS Principals/Standards in Delivering Quality Services - Maintains integrity of HRIS information. Maintains databases of Compensation/HRIS related information in an accurate and current condition. Tracks and reports employees benefit time with Lawson software. Maintains and updates data to insure a compliant, accurate system of record.
  • Demonstrates HSS Principles/Standards in Delivering Quality Services - Ensures accurate and timely payroll. Enters payroll in a timely and accurate fashion for employees on approved leaves of absences.
  • Demonstrates HSS Principals/Standards in Delivering Quality Services - Coordinates with Insurance Companies. Processes applications and coordinates payroll appropriately for employees receiving WC, STD and LTD.
  • Upholds Patient Rights/Organizational Ethics - Promotes a professional atmosphere. Promotes a professional atmosphere through courteous communication, cooperation, and respect for patients, visitors and members of the health care team.
  • Upholds Patient Rights/Organizational Ethics - Responds to customer concerns. Responds to customer concerns as soon as possible with compassion and understanding.
  • Upholds Patient Rights/Organizational Ethics - Observes and respects privacy & confidentiality. Observes and respects the privacy and confidentiality of information in accordance with HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Education - Continuing educational programs. Maintains and develops competence through required inservice and continuing educational programs.
  • Upholds Patient Rights/Organizational Ethics - Collaborates with members of the team. Collaborates with peers, physicians and other members of the team, as appropriate.
  • Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff - Attendance. Maintains satisfactory attendance record.
  • Demonstrates HSS Principles/Standards in Delivering Quality Services- Punctuality. Reports for duty punctually.
  • Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff - Time management. Manages time appropriately to meet patient, department, and Hospital needs.
  • Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff - Adjusts to changing situations. Adjusts to changing situations and work assignments.
  • Upholds Standards/Expectations of HSS Staff - Staff meetings. Attends/participates in staff meetings. Endeavors to Improve Organizational Performance - Improves performance (QA/PI activities).Improves performance based on feedback.

 

 


EDUCATION REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalent (G. E. D.), may include specialized or vocational courses.

EDUCATION PREFERRED
Bachelors.

SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge of PC and databases, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as fluency in payroll practices. Strong organizational Skills, Ability to multi task and team work skills. Ability to problem solve and meet deadlines. Ability to interact with all levels of staff.
