The Opportunity:
Join CACI as a Senior Data Engineer. We are seeking a highly experienced subject matter expert to design and implement scalable data engineering solutions that support our clients’ LAN, WAN, and UC services. In this role, you will lead complex initiatives focused on data integration, analytics enablement, and operational decision support relating to cybersecurity, compliance, and network modernization. You will establish data standards and operational practices with mid-term strategic impact, mentor technical staff across the organization, and communicate technical findings and recommendations to senior and executive leadership. Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain robust end-to-end data pipelines to support data collection, integration, transformation, and storage across multiple enterprise sources
Develop and manage scalable data architectures, including raw, staging, curated, and reporting-ready layers
Create trusted, reusable datasets and data structures that improve reporting consistency, dashboard performance, and analytics consumption
Implement data quality controls, validation checks, monitoring, and alerting to detect schema changes, incomplete loads, freshness issues, and other data integrity risks
Troubleshoot complex data issues across ingestion, transformation, and reporting workflows, identifying root causes and restoring trusted outputs
Design safe and reliable data publishing patterns, including staging-to-swap deployments, rerunnable processes, idempotent loads, and backfill strategies
Partner with reporting and analytics stakeholders to prepare and optimize data structures for advanced analytics, machine learning, and visualizations
Lead cross-functional data initiatives that improve visibility, reduce manual effort, and strengthen data trust across operational workflows
Conceptualize and implement data products, standards, and processes that enable future decision-support capabilities
Stay current on advancements in data engineering, analytics architecture, data quality practices, and applied analytics methods
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Required:
Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph OR have an active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph prior to start
Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, information systems, or a related field
10+ years of related work experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist, or similar role
Must hold a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
Proficient understanding of data governance, access control, and security best practices in regulated or sensitive environments
Proven proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, pipeline development, data validation, and analytics support
Extensive hands-on experience designing and maintaining scalable data architectures, databases, and automated data engineering workflows
Strong experience with database platforms, including schema design, performance optimization, views/materialized views, and data modeling
Proven ability to investigate complex data issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions
Experience developing technical standards, improving workflow reliability, and communicating technical issues and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
Desired:
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a highly quantitative, technical, or engineering field
Experience mentoring and directing junior/mid-level data analysts and engineers
Familiarity working alongside Business Intelligence SMEs, preparing and formatting optimal data structures for machine learning and visualization tools like Tableau
Exceptional ability to work with high latitude and independence, successfully managing multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
