Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Director, Strategy & Portfolio, located in Bogotá Distrito Capital, Distrito Capital de Bogotá. 

The Director, Strategy & Portfolio plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping how strategy is translated into execution across the enterprise. This role defines and drives the portfolio and project management capability, creating transparency into priorities, investments, and outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to lead large-scale transformation, influence senior stakeholders, and accelerate value creation by connecting strategy, delivery, and enablement across Global Services. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Own and lead the Global Services strategy, portfolio, and project management capability, including governance, intake, prioritization, and delivery frameworks that provide enterprise-wide visibility into initiatives, investments, and outcomes. 
• Partner across Strategy & Operations and Global Services stakeholders to define the future-state strategy and roadmap for the Global Business Services organization. 
 Establish and continuously improve portfolio management standards, tools, and processes through benchmarking and industry best practices. 
• Design and implement the future operating model for Global Services portfolio and project management, including team structure, workforce strategy, and service delivery alignment. 
• Lead the GS Project and Portfolio Management function, enabling consistent and high-quality execution of priority programs through standardized methodologies, tools, and resourcing models. 
• Deliver portfolio performance visibility and reporting to support data-driven decision-making and strategic prioritization. 
• Oversee transformation enablement capabilities, including change management, communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and support for acquisitions and divestitures. 
• Drive value realization by embedding measurement frameworks, tracking outcomes, and strengthening cross-functional partnerships across the enterprise. 
• Act as a strategic advisor to leadership by translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and aligning stakeholders to deliver enterprise transformation initiatives. 

 

Qualifications 

Education: 

• Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration, Strategy, Finance, Engineering, or related field) 
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred 

 

Experience and Skills: 

Required: 
• Minimum of 10–12 years of relevant professional experience in strategy, operations, portfolio management, or transformation roles 
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide portfolio, program, or project management functions 
• Strong track record of translating strategic priorities into execution plans and measurable outcomes 
• Experience designing governance frameworks, operating models, and prioritization processes 
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment 

Preferred: 
• Experience within Global Business Services, shared services, or large-scale global operations 
• Experience supporting digital transformation, automation, or process improvement initiatives 
• Familiarity with acquisitions, divestitures, or external partnership management 
• Knowledge of portfolio and project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, PPM frameworks) 
• Experience leading high-performing teams in a global, matrixed environment 
• Financial acumen, including business case development and value realization tracking 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to synthesize complex information 

 

Other: 

• Language requirements: English required; Spanish preferred 
• Travel: Up to 20–30% (domestic and international) 
• Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification preferred
