
Imaging Assistant - Radiology - Nuclear Medicine
Job Description
The Imaging Assistant supports the patient care team by performing a variety of clerical, technical, and patient-related tasks under the direction of Radiologic Technologists. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing exams, educating patients, assisting with exams and procedures, and patient transport. The Imaging Assistant may work across different imaging modalities, with a primary focus on MRI and CT, adapting to clinical needs. This role involves assisting with exams for patients of all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Tampa General Hospital's mission, vision, and values.
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS)
One (1) year of clerical experience required
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Familiarity with medical terminology, patient care protocols, and healthcare safety standards, especially in a radiology setting.
· Awareness of patient handling, transport techniques, and basic anatomy to support safe and
effective patient care.
· Strong communication skills for patient education and coordination.
· Competency in using healthcare software and imaging equipment for exam review and
documentation.
· Adaptability to assist with various imaging modalities and adjust to operational demands.
· Capacity to interact with patients across age groups with sensitivity to their specific needs.
· Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
