Terminal Coordinator
Full-Time, Permanent
Saskatoon, SK
Graymont is seeking a Terminal Coordinator to support day-to-day rail unloading, distribution, inventory and storage activities at the Saskatoon terminal. Reporting to the Terminal Specialist, the Terminal Coordinator will support facility optimization, maintain the high standards of safety, quality and customer service, while operating within environmental regulations consistent with the business strategy and objectives of Graymont.
Responsibilities
· Support day‑to‑day terminal operations, including rail unloading, inventory management, product storage, and truck loading activities, in accordance with established procedures.
· Coordinate rail service and unloading activities at the terminal and track rail service performance.
· Collect, document, and communicate information related to demurrage exposure and accessorial charges to support review and resolution by the Terminal Specialist.
· Perform inventory tracking and reporting; identify discrepancies or potential issues and communicate them to the Terminal Specialist.
· Support storage asset utilization activities in collaboration with the Terminal Specialist and Supply Planner.
· Work closely with Customer Service to facilitate truck loading, weights, and invoicing.
· Support on‑site execution of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements under the direction of the Terminal Specialist.
· Assist with the implementation of functional, safety, and terminal‑specific training activities as directed.
· Support coordination of maintenance activities, assets, third‑party resources, and contracts.
· Support timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and system transactions (e.g., Transwide or other systems).
· Provide ad hoc data gathering and analysis support for assigned terminal(s) as requested.
· Identify procedural or operational issues and communicate observations to the Terminal Specialist; support implementation of approved improvement initiatives and capital projects as directed.
· Provide task‑level guidance to Terminal Operator(s) as needed to support safe and efficient execution of work.
· Perform hands‑on operational and manual tasks as required, including operating lime receiving and mobile equipment; unloading railcars; assisting with preventive maintenance; general equipment maintenance (including welding where certified); inventory activities; housekeeping; cleanup; and assisting with truck loading.
· Perform work independently at times and be able to work alone.
· Work in various environments, including variable weather conditions and exposure to lime/limestone dust (appropriate PPE provided).
Qualifications
· Education: High School diploma required, Associate degree preferred
· Professional Experience: Applicable related work experience in a cement, lime, or dry bulk distribution environment may be considered in lieu of formal education
· Familiarity with bulk material discharge, shipping, and distribution operations
· Strong commitment to workplace safety
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to follow established procedures and appropriately escalate non routine issues
· Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, departments, and locations
· Technology Requirements: Computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications
· Travel Component: Maximum 5%
