Mankiewicz Coatings LLC is looking for a motivated and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is a direct hire position and is responsible for performing highly diversified duties including but not limited to installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment according to safety and preventive maintenance systems.
Job Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain facility and production equipment
• Inspects facilities and equipment to determine functionality and detect malfunctions and needed repair
• Checks and ensures functionality of safety systems and equipment (e.g. fire alarm, eye wash stations)
• Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Collaborate with subcontractors for renovations/ maintenance or fixing jobs.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Recommends parts and maintain required documents.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Keep facilities clean and organize maintenance workplace
• Coordinate maintenance subcontractors and schedule visits as needed
• Define and maintain appropriate inventory level of spare parts for critical equipment (e.g. milling equipment, mixers, others)
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Requires flexibility and understanding that this position may be required to perform duties outside the duties listed above in order to meet the mission and goals of Mankiewicz Coatings.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma, GED and/or relevant job function experience.
• Receive hazardous waste training within 6 months of initial employment, and annually thereafter in accordance with the applicable provisions of R.61-79.262.17(a)(7)(ii), (iii) and (iv)(D) of the South Carolina Hazardous Waste Management Regulations (SCHWMR).
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers .
• Experience with SAP software (preferred).
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
• Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.
• Must be able to wear a respirator and must pass annual respirator fit testing.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand for 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
