LABORER

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Laborer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the success of various manufacturing projects supporting the US Navy. You will play a crucial role in assisting skilled tradespeople with day to day manufacturing activities.
● Support various fabrication shops by providing assistance to skilled tradespeople. Duties will vary day to day and will include but will not be limited to: material handling utilizing forklifts and overhead cranes, cutting raw materials to support machine shop activities, grinding, sandblasting, drilling, and general cleaning and shop maintenance.
● Collaborate with shop supervision and tradespeople, production planning and program managers
● Drive efficiency by providing support to fabrication shops as needed.
● Utilize various hand and power tools such as grinders, band saws, torches, plasma cutters, drills, and milling machines to prepare and stage material.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

● Education: High School Diploma/GED
● Experience: 0+ years of related experience
● Technical skills: Familiarity with various hand and power tools, and a desire to learn fabrication skills.
● Security clearance level: Ability to obtain a secret clearance is required.
● US citizenship required
● Role requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and routinely lift up to 50 LBs.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $19.12 - $25.88. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
