DSI Security Services is hiring Healthcare Access Control Specialists for HH Health System Huntsville Hospital's main campus. As a Healthcare Access Control Specialist, you will serve as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for patients, visitors, employees, and guests. This role combines customer service, visitor management, and security responsibilities to help maintain a safe, secure, and positive healthcare environment.
You will assist visitors, issue visitor credentials, monitor access points, provide directions, answer questions, and support hospital staff by ensuring access control procedures are followed.
Available Schedules
Option 1
- Sunday – Tuesday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Wednesday: 6-hour shift
Option 2
- Wednesday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Saturday: 6-hour shift
All schedules average 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities available.
Paid Training
All new hires must successfully complete one week of paid training conducted Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM prior to beginning their assigned schedule.
Training includes:
- Customer service in a healthcare setting
- Verbal de-escalation techniques
- Managing aggressive behavior
- CPR certification
- Hospital-specific computer systems and procedures
- Security and safety protocols
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by performing general security duties.
- Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and guests with professionalism and empathy
- Verify identification and issue visitor credentials through electronic access systems
- Monitor and control access points throughout the facility
- Provide directions and answer questions for visitors and staff
- Observe and report safety concerns, incidents, or suspicious activity
- Conduct routine foot patrols as needed
- Complete required documentation and reports accurately
- Follow all DSI and Huntsville Hospital policies, procedures, and post instructions
- Promote a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment

- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency
- Ability to walk, stand, and perform routine foot patrols during assigned shifts
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Successfully complete required training program
