Overview: The Home Equity Loan Support Specialist would play a critical role in the Home Equity department by serving as a liaison between Loan Officers, Branch staff, and Operations. The Home Equity Loan Support Specialist would be responsible for early file quality, disclosure accuracy, and documentation compliance, while also acting as a subject matter expert for branch teams with limited home lending experience. Essential Responsibilities: Perform initial file intake and quality review to ensure application accuracy and completeness Validate and update income, credit, and application data in the POS and LOS Organize, label, and maintain received documentation in accordance with documentation standards Issue required pre-processing disclosures and notices, including: initial disclosures and redisclosures, notices of incompletion, denial and withdrawal notices (decision provided; preparation and issuance only) Partner with underwriting to identify and disposition dead or non-viable files early Advance clean, compliant files to Processing Identify missing or incorrect documentation and coordinate with Loan Officers to resolve issues Maintain detailed records of errors and missing documentation for coaching and quality tracking purposes Compile and contribute to recurring error trend reports in partnership with the Home Equity Sales Service Manager Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for branch staff originating home equity applications Provide light pipeline coordination and queue management support (non-member-facing) Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required Minimum of two years’ experience in Mortgage or Equity Operations Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Professional verbal and written communication skills Multi-tasker with strong time management and organizational skills who can work in a fastpaced environment Analytical and critical review skills Ability to exhibit a positive attitude and professional demeanor and can lead by example Adherence understanding of Mortgage related operational procedures At GECU, we want to support your wellbeing by offering a wide range of benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance Life and Disability insurance options Paid Time Off starts accruing once hired and take your birthday off – paid 401k Retirement plan with up to a 10% match of your base gross compensation Tuition reimbursement opportunities professional development Volunteer opportunities -and earn additional PTO hours!
