What you will need to be successful in this role:
You will need to have a solid understanding of Python, REST API design, and application development. You will also need to have strong problem-solving skills which will enable you to make valued contributions to our team and software platform. You will need the drive to keep up to date with the latest trends in cloud technology, AI, DevOps, and AWS. Existing experience with a Cloud Provider (ie AWS or Google Cloud) is a big plus. Being detail orientated and collaborative will also ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop internal platform tooling used by hundreds of developers to manage their deployments and service health across numerous worldwide locations.
- Participate in code reviews across multiple services in an effort to provide constructive feedback to help team members.
- Create and maintain various unit and integration tests across multiple microservices.
- Take the initiative to improve existing services; either with code changes or architecture changes.
- Collaborate with other teams across the Genesys Cloud platform to gather requirements, work through problems, or demonstrate solutions
- Optimize the use of metrics and logging to help maintain our microservices; in both new and existing development.
- Work with remote team members in designing, developing, and testing features and functionality that include high scalability, availability, and reliability
- A positive attitude and willingness to take on new tasks as they arise
Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years relative experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant, proven industry experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of scalability and availability in distributed systems.
- Firm understanding of backend application development using Python, REST API and NoSQL solutions.
- Experience with Python and/or Java
- Experience with Jenkins and Ansible
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
The ideal candidate would also have experience with:
- Amazon Web Services (Dynamo, S3, SQS, SNS, Cloud Formation, etc.)
- Experience with REST API Frameworks (ie, Spring Boot, Flask, Django, etc)
- Web UI JS Framework experience (Ember, NodeJS, Angular, etc)
- Be proficient in one or more cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud
- Experience working with remote engineering teams
- Experience running production workloads.
