The CMS Engineer is a key contributor to the development of our content-driven web platform, with a focus on Python, Django, and the Wagtail CMS. This role centers on designing and building scalable, maintainable backend services and CMS features that power our public-facing websites and editorial workflows.
Where You Make An Impact
Design and develop backend components and CMS features using Python, Django, and Wagtail
Build, extend, and maintain Wagtail page models, StreamFields, blocks, and editor experiences
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable Python code following Django best practices
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for internal and external consumption
Work independently on features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment
Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and content teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural and technical decisions
Optimize application performance, reliability, and security; troubleshoot production issues
Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices
What Makes You Be the Perfect Fit
3+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Python and Django
Practical experience with Wagtail CMS (page models, StreamFields, snippets, hooks)
Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration patterns
Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and Django ORM
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and automated testing (pytest, Django test framework)
Ability to work independently, take ownership of features, and deliver reliably with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and good collaboration skills in a cross-functional team
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
