Job Description
As a Mobile Meal Aide in JASA’s Home Delivered Meals Program, you’ll play an important role in ensuring homebound older adults receive nutritious meals safely and reliably. You’ll support meal preparation, packaging, kitchen sanitation, and meal delivery while maintaining respectful and compassionate interactions with clients.

- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

What You'll Be Doing
As a Mobile Meal Aide, you’ll assist with meal preparation, packaging, kitchen cleanup, and meal delivery to congregate sites and homebound clients.
Meal Preparation & Packaging
- Package cooked and cold food into appropriate containers for delivery
- Assist with organizing and preparing meals for distribution
- Support food handling procedures as directed by kitchen staff
Kitchen Cleaning & Support
- Clean food preparation areas after meals are packaged
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workspaces
- Assist with organizing and storing food and supplies
Meal Delivery & Route Support
- Deliver packaged meals to congregate sites and homebound clients on assigned routes
- Follow delivery routes determined by supervisor
- Provide courteous and respectful service during deliveries
Client Interaction & Contributions
- Accept voluntary contributions from program participants
- Issue receipts for contributions received
- Turn in collected funds, receipts, and documentation to coordinator
- Report any unusual client situations immediately to supervisor, including:
- Client not answering the door
- Changes in client behavior or appearance
- Safety or wellness concerns
- Contact coordinator immediately when unsure about any situation
Additional Duties
- May assist with shopping for homebound clients as directed
- May assist with other delivery or program functions as assigned
- May substitute for driver when needed
- Assist with vehicle maintenance and program operations
- Perform additional duties as requested
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read, speak, and follow directions in English
- Ability to lift heavy objects and carry meal containers and supplies
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Must be able to work in kitchen and delivery environments
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn program systems
- Valid New York State Driver’s License preferred
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as assigned
