The Corporate Trust Paralegal will play a key role in supporting the Bank’s Corporate Trust Department in the Wealth Division, with responsibility for managing, tracking, and responding to legal notices and communications received in connection with corporate trust accounts. The position requires experience in legal matters relating to mortgage type assets. This includes foreclosures actions, bankruptcy actions, and other notices tied to mortgage assets. The successful candidate will serve as a central point of coordination between internal counsel, operations, relationship management, and outside parties to ensure timely and accurate handling of notices, default communications, and related matters. The candidate should also be comfortable managing a small team and providing guidance and development of the staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive, log, and track all legal notices, default letters, and other formal communications delivered under trust agreements.
  • Analyze notices to determine required trustee actions, escalate to appropriate internal teams, and coordinate timely responses.
  • Maintain notice files and tracking systems to ensure compliance with deadlines, covenants, and regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare response packages, correspondence, and status summaries for management and regulatory review.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel as needed to ensure proper handling of complex default situations.
  • Partner with operations, compliance, and risk to ensure consistent procedures for logging and responding to notices.
  • Serve as liaison to external counsel, issuers, obligors, and bondholders regarding formal communications.
  • Assist in training trust administrators and junior staff on notice review, escalation, and documentation protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or Legal Studies.
  • Paralegal Degree or Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years’ experience in related field preferably with a bank, mortgage originator, title company, or law firm setting.
  • Strong background in organizing and interpreting legal notices, defaults, and trustee obligations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple high-volume matters simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to distill complex issues into clear internal summaries.

Salary Range:

$77,390.00 - $127,139.75

Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
