Audio Visual Technician

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Provides AV support, services and resources including but not limited to set up, strike, and operation of audio, lighting, video, staging, electrical, and/or other technical equipment.
  • Operates and manages audiovisual systems for clients, guests, and Specialized staff, ensuring high-quality performance and reliability.
  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs technical systems and equipment to ensure consistent functionality and uptime.
  • Delivers end-to-end support for virtual and hybrid meetings, including scheduling, hosting, and running webinars and livestream events (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms), managing technical integrations, and guiding presenters, panelists, and attendees for a seamless experience.
  • Supports management and troubleshooting of building security and camera systems (e.g., Verkada) in coordination with Facilities and IT.
  • Provides guidance to other Specialized staff on the safe and effective use of audiovisual equipment and systems when needed.
  • Assists Workplace Services team members in supporting all special event programs and services to include protocols for safety, security, and teammates during onsite and offsite events.
  • Participates in meetings to convey updates, provide technical input, and gather information necessary for planning and execution.
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN:

  • Basic knowledge of sound, lighting, video, staging, rigging, and electrical systems, including safety practices.
  • Technical aptitude with computer systems and applications (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, production suite, webinar/streaming platforms).
  • Associate degree (AA/AS/AGS) with at least 4-5 year of AV/technical experience.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain professionalism and support clients, guests, and staff.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and follow directions.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and independent work skills; able to direct others when needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with occasional long or irregular hours.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in noisy environments, and perform tasks requiring climbing, bending, kneeling, and extended standing/walk.
  • Ability to obtain Scissor and Fork/High Lift certification within six months.
